Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie that stars E.L. James, is coming to Netflix on August 16.
That’s not the only title that the movie-streaming giant has in store for its subscribers, but it is the first major title that Netflix is bringing to the streaming service.
The trailer for the film, which was released in March, features the opening sequence from the book Fifty Shades of Gray, a fantasy thriller that imagines a sexual assault on a college campus.
But there’s one thing the trailer doesn’t tell you: it’s not for Netflix.
The movie’s director, Lauren Beukes, is in a relationship with her brother, a producer at Lionsgate, the company that produced the film.
In an email, Beukes explained that her relationship with James is no longer in the film’s development phase and that she’s working on other projects at the moment.
She also confirmed that she has a few other projects on the horizon, but did not say which ones.
The trailer is a teaser for a future episode in the series.
While it’s hard to see the plot in the trailer, it is notable that the story is told through the eyes of a young woman named Charlotte (who is played by E. L. James).
While James and Beukes have had a long relationship, this was the first time they’ve been together as an actual couple.
They met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012, where James had won Best Director and Beardsley had won best actress for her performance in The Theory of Everything.
James said in a statement, “I am very happy that the film has become a hit and that I am now able to share it with so many more people.”
