When Batman begins its U.S. theatrical run on Blu, the movie will have to undergo a re-shuffle after being rejected by Disney for the previous version, according to an article published on Disney’s website on Monday.
The story is that while the studio wanted the original version to go out with a bang, they felt it would be too “bitter” for the audience.
“The studio wanted it to be a film that was ‘bold, bold and daring,'” the article reads.
“And they didn’t want it to feel too bitter or too dark.”
The re-working of the original will be “very, very difficult,” Disney told the website.
“We can’t have that feeling again.”
Disney will likely attempt to do some sort of remaster of the film, but will likely have to re-shoot the movie in order to fit the current Blu-Ray format, the article adds.
