The title of this year’s Australian album of the decade is inescapable, and it’s hard not to be impressed by this year, in particular, the way the likes of James and Alice Clark have taken to the stage and the soundscapes they’ve crafted.
James Clark and Alice Williams (aka James and Alex) have been touring Australia since 2011, and their new album, Live at the Royal Melbourne Theatre, is the culmination of the duo’s touring life, which has seen them play to crowds of over 100,000 across Australia.
With a new live set scheduled to start in September, it’s safe to say the duo are still at the forefront of Australian music, having won a number of major awards for their work.
On the album’s second track, ‘Lights’, James sings of his desire to ‘bring the light’, while Alice says she wants to ‘create a world that can’t be lost’.
In a statement released by the Clark family, they wrote: ‘We have no intention of ever releasing an album that does not have a connection to the lives of those we love and we want to thank the listeners who have supported us through this journey.
‘It’s been a whirlwind of highs and lows, and the experience has been worth it.
We can’t wait to share the joy with you again soon!’
